Kabir Das ke Dohey - 7

बोली एक अनमोल है, जो कोई बोलै जानि,
हिये तराजू तौलि के, तब मुख बाहर आनि।
Boli ek amol hai, jo koi bole jani.
Leya taraju toleye, tab mukh bahar ani

Literal meaning: The selection of words and tone of your speech are precious. Always first evaluate the same and then only speak.

Explanation: This is one of the most important factor of life. You can make friends and enemies just by your speech and remember that once spoken, it can not be taken back. If you go through the history and the Holy books, you will find that a total society was reformed just by a thoughtful speech and on the other wand war was created only due to unwanted speech.

Let me tell you one story from Mahabharat. Once 'Dhuryodhan' son of 'Dhristrastra'(who was blind) was walking in 'Udhister' palace, fell into a small water pond. Seeing this 'Droupadhi', the wife of 'Udhister' laughed and said - "Andhey ka putra andha" (meaning in english - as father is blind so is son). This sentence was very much hurting for 'Dhuryodhan' and was one of the reason for the famous battle of 'Mahabharat'.
